Meet Your Advisor: Chris Heriza
In this series, we talk to our amazing advising team, to get to know them better and learn about how they can help students! Today, we meet Chris Heriza, academic advisor.
Let us know a little about yourself:
I have been with University College since 2015, I grew up in Denver, and I am married with two wonderful step-kids and two doggies. (A Puggle named Buddy, and a Mini-Labradoodle named Charlie.)
What programs do you advise for?
I recruit and advise for Arts and Culture Management, Professional Creative Writing, and Supply Chain Management.
What can a student gain from meeting with you?
I am always happy to assist and advocate for all of my students, and I want to be considered a go-to for any DU or University College related questions and concerns.
How often do you suggest a student meet with you?
I will meet a student right where they are, in terms of guidance and assistance needed. So, let’s talk and see what works for you.
Best advice for students on how to navigate the education/work-life balance?
Approach all of your classes and studies as you would a job, in a professional and positive manner. Know your limits in regard to the free time you will have to participate in classes. Enjoy yourself, and value the learning experience.
You can contact Chris at chris.heriza@du.edu or 303-871-4785.
