Colorado Adult Learning Symposium – Virtual Event on August 14

According to the Colorado Department of Higher Education, 75% of Colorado jobs and an estimated 97% of “top jobs” with high growth rate and a solid living wage require a post-secondary education. Do you know how to help adult learners succeed and meet this demand?

On August 14, thought leaders focused on adult education from across the Front Range will gather virtually to discuss ways to foster connections between industry and higher education at the entirely online 2020 Colorado Adult Learning Symposium (CALS).

The symposium provides an intentional space to address the needs of adult learners and how institutions and organizations can rise to the challenge.

Geared for industry leaders and members of the higher education community who serve adult learners, this year’s entirely online CALS will provide attendees with practical, applicable strategies for addressing adult learners’ needs in our communities. From successfully engaging adult learners in a virtual context to fostering inclusivity in education, creating industry/academic partnerships to using data for education and career exploration, find a session that suits your needs and interests. Sessions include:

  • Make and Model: 10 Tips for Designing and Facilitating Zoom Training for Adults
  • Navigating Logistics and Mechanics in Creating Industry/Academic Partnerships
  • Reaching Every Learner: Discovering the World of Accessibility
  • Upskilling and Credentialing
  • Today’s Workforce Needs Tomorrow’s Skills

The University of Denver is committed to delivering enduring professional growth and personal development by providing adult learners access to high-quality education through alternative educational pathways. Through CALS, we hope to foster engaging online interaction and—most of all—practical strategies that symposium attendees can take back with them and put to use in their own organizations and institutions. Thank you to sponsors Inscribe and the Center for Work Education and Employment.
