Supporting Our Neighbors in Boulder

Dear University College Community,

Only minutes after sending our email message on March 22 in support of our Asian American and Pacific Islander community members resulting from last week’s killings in Atlanta, I learned of the violence that was unfolding in Boulder, Colorado. As Chancellor Haefner mentioned in his email to the community earlier today, we grieve with the family members and friends of the 10 individuals who were killed in this senseless tragedy.

Our hearts break for Boulder, the University of Denver’s beloved neighbor and a community that University College has many direct ties to through students, instructors, and alumni who live there, have lived there, or have connections who live there. Now more than ever, we express empathy and support to our neighbors, first responders, and frontline workers.

For members of our community who were impacted by what happened yesterday––or who are experiencing grief related to the other acts of violence around the country in recent weeks––please seek support from the campus resources noted below.

Take care,

Michael McGuire
Dean
University College, University of Denver
