Graduation Story: Leslie DeVera-Duncan

We asked graduates to share their journey to graduation. Here is what Leslie DeVera-Duncan (Strategic Human Resources) had to say in her own words…

Many years ago when my mother was in her 50s, she walked down the aisle at Western Michigan University to receive her Masters of Science diploma. She did this as a Senior Executive at her hospital. It wasn’t to advance her position. It was to become a more knowledgeable and better leader. It is an honor to follow in her footsteps. As an executive team member for my company, I am humbled and pleased to have completed my Masters of Science degree from the University of Denver, University College. I didn’t need this to advance my position. I did it to meet wonderful people, become a better leader, and to be just like my mom. I am honored to have my parents attending this ceremony.

Congratulations, Leslie!
