
Two University College Online Programs Receive Top Rankings
U.S. News & World Report has released its annual report of Best Online Programs in the nation, and two online programs within University of Denver’s University College are among the top of the 2021 list.
“It is very gratifying that U.S. News continues to recognize our programs among some of the best in the nation,” says Michael McGuire, dean of University College. “Our high-engagement model and course content continue to evolve and respond to current and future educational and professional needs of students to ensure they are prepared to advance in their careers.”
The master’s degree in Information and Communication Technology is now ranked No. 39, up two spots from last year. Students in this program focus on bridging the gap between business requirements and technical solutions. The ranking was based on factors such as faculty credentials, admissions selectivity, and service and technologies.
“We are honored that the Information and Communications Technology program at the University of Denver’s University College is recognized by U.S. News among the top 40 best online master’s in information technology programs,” said Mike Batty, academic director for the program. “We strive to provide an exceptional value proposition to our students by ensuring our courses are developed and delivered by industry experts and are aligned with industry standards.”
The Bachelor of Arts Completion Program received a No. 67 ranking, moving up several spots from the previous year’s ranking of No. 73. Rankings in this program are based on factors such as engagement, graduation rate, and academic and career support. More than 350 programs were submitted for consideration in the online bachelor’s category.
“Our ranking increase is truly due to the highly committed faculty and magnificent administrative team for the Bachelor of Arts Completion Program,” said Michelle Kruse-Crocker, academic director of the program. “We remain committed to offering adult students an education that meets their needs for delivery modality, connects real-world and conceptual learning, fosters diverse thought, and allows for students to realize their professional and personal goals.”
Several online programs across the University of Denver received a significant rankings boost in 2021. To compile the rankings list, U.S. News & World Report evaluates the schools and programs on engagement, faculty credentials and training, expert opinion, services and technologies, and student excellence.
